Hi there,

As you may have seen on our website, we are running a Women and Girl’s Football Week February 15th to 21st 2010.  We are encouraging clubs in the federation to organize something to promote the game amongst females.

The underlying aim of the week is to get more females involved in the beautiful game, but it is also a good chance to encourage and support those females already involved.

The federation will be running Football Festivals in schools, Free Small Whites Coaching Courses for Females and Free Referee Coaching Courses for Females.

Suggestions for your club are: run a small sided tournament, have an all girls training session, get together with another club and play a friendly all girls/women’s match.

I have attached a flyer for you to put up in your club. If you are going to organize something please let me know. This is a New Zealand Football initiative being rolled out in all seven Federations across New Zealand.  We strongly urge your club to get involved.

Please forward this to anyone you think may wish to get involved.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Presidents Report 2009 Rotorua Junior Football http://www.waiariki.school.nz:8080/~rjfmc/index.php?content=news#214

Presidents report 2009 Rotorua Junior Football

Another season of football has concluded in the Rotorua region and on reflection I would like to say a successful season for our committee and players alike.
With the ongoing recruitment of proactive delegates and committee members, we are in a strong position to further advance the game in our region across the board from the first time five year olds to those who have represented Waikato Bay of Plenty Football at Federation Level and all in between.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee executive, all RJFMC delegates, club volunteers, club members, coaches, referees and football officials for your ongoing support through the 2009 season and may it continue in 2010.

2009 brought notable achievements to Rotorua Junior Football which included the following:

1. The introduction of two new senior size fields at Arawa Park and the continued co-operation between the RJFMC, Rotorua Racing Club and Rotorua District Council

2. Rotorua City implementing a social competition.

3. Creation of the Rotorua United academy for players wishing to up skill.

4. Rotorua players being selected for federation squads including a surge in the number of females being selected.

5. Introduction of football development officer in Rotorua to service the southern half of the federation.

 6. Stronger ties with Waikato Bay of Plenty Football, Rotorua District Council and Rotorua Racing Club.

7. Adoption of the strategic plan to align our field and team sizes to a national standard as defined by NZ football.

8. WAIBOP creating our league draw and carrying out judicial duties.

9. The formation of a new club representing Mamaku.

10. The approval by the JMC to educate and qualify all coaches and referees to a recognized level for all Rotorua teams.

11. The creation of the High Performance Programme, (HPP) based in Rotorua for player development.

12. Three submissions by the JMC and Rotorua United to the Rotorua District Council regarding growth and facilities developments for the short, medium and long term projections.

13. Establishment of a working party chaired by Sport Bay of Plenty and involving all key shareholders in Football Rotorua to further our development at Council/Funding levels.
This group involves the RJFMC, Rotorua United, Ngongataha Football Club, Rotorua District Council and Sport Bay of Plenty.

2010 brings with it positive challenges on the back of the All Whites success.

Lets all make the effort to capitalize on the new season and work alongside WAIBOP to create a more structured and competitive season for all involved in 2010.

At the start of my report I expressed thanks to all of you for your assistance in helping make the season flow.
I would like to express my thanks to the following in particular for there management and advice in key roles.

Wendy Applegate as rep co-coordinator and advisor.
